Athletes and parents,
On behalf of the Coaches, welcome to the 2019 season! A couple of administrative items that I've received questions regarding:
Welcome to the 2019 swim and dive season. I am very excited to see what this season brings. We are coming off the heals of a fantastic 2018 season and back to back State Championships! I look forward to seeing many familiar faces and getting to know many new ones. We have a great group of captains and captain parents who have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure that everything is set and ready to go. One thing that continues to be reiterated with the high school swimming season is that once it starts it is quick to get going and quick to finish. Please make sure to stay on top of any news and changes that are consistently being updated on the team website at: www.bellevueswimanddive.com. Most question can be answered here. That said, if you don’t find what you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to ask. If I don’t know the answer, I will find out who does. I am super excited to announce that we will have three coaches on deck this season. Mr Hill, the athletic director at Bellevue High School, was a big advocate to get us the extra position. I will be joined by Katryna Cutler and Michael Liu. They both were part of the coaching staff for the boys season last year. I have included their bios below. They bring a breadth of knowledge and personal experience in the sport that I think will help continue to build the program. I am thrilled to have them both as part of the team. Welcome Katryna and Michael! The girls work extremely hard during the season and I am so proud of them each year. Please consider doing your part to help support their efforts. We can’t get through the season without the support of our parents. Whether it be hosting the team for a dinner, timing, officiating, or just showing up to meets to cheer them on, your efforts mean a great deal. Please make sure to sign up during our fall spots meeting in September. We need YOU! Enjoy the rest of your summer. I look forward to seeing all the swimmers on deck on August 26th and all the parents on deck for our time trial on Sept 4th. Please mark this on your calendar. We have not had time trials for a few years but I look forward to it being an opportunity to get a sense of where the ladies are and also have a chance to put some faces to names. All the Best, Coach Lisa Katryna Cutler: Katryna is a Senior at Seattle University studying sports and exercise science with a goal of pursuing physical therapy. She was one of the assistant coaches for Holy Names Academy and for the boys 2018-19 swim season at Bellevue. She was also the head coach for Norwood. She has loved working with and seeing swimmers improve over the past years and is extremely excited to be on board with the 2019 girls swim season. Michael Liu: Michael Liu is a 2004 graduate of O’Dea High School where he swam and competed at a State Championship level. He has a long time individual coaching background and has a mindful technical perspective of the little things one can do to improve their mechanics to become a better/faster swimmer.
