Other things you will need are a swimsuit, goggles, cap, towel, maybe some flip flops and sunblock since we are outdoors and may still have some warm days! Please keep in mind, to be eligible to compete you will need 10 practices without any deductions. This means you can only miss 3 practices to compete by our first meet 9/9. It's easiest to get these in at the beginning, especially before school starts. Divers, I strongly encourage you to attend some of the swim practices the first 3 days to get your practices in, as there may not be dive practices on those days! We can try to find more dive-specific things for you to work on as well, and also do some swim & dive team-building the first week. On behalf of the Captains and Coach Michael, I hope you're having a wonderful summer! If you haven't checked the website recently, registration is currently open for 2021-22 athletics. The BHS Athletics page contains all of the information you need to register. Please make sure that registration, ImPACT Testing (divers), and physicals are complete prior to the first practice (Monday, 8/23/2021)
Congratulations to Janelle Rudolph, the WIAA swimmer of the week! Fantastic job! From the WIAA website: Rudolph became an 8-time State Champion at the 3A State Championships by winning the 50m free (22.36) and 100m backstroke (52.90) for the fourth year in a row. Both winning times were 3A meet and all-time State records. She also anchored Bellevue’s winning 200m medley relay (22.22) and 400m free relay (47.77) helping the Wolverines to the team title. The senior was crowned the Swimmer of the Meet for the fourth time. Excerpt from Bellevue Reporter Bellevue: The Wolverines won their third-straight 3A state championship, finishing 40 points ahead of Lake Washington. Congratulations to our very own Coach Lisa as the 2019 coach of the Year! Well deserved for all of your time and effort.
