WIAA Athlete of the Week | 2021-22 week 23
This past weekend the Bellevue boys swim team took the 4th place trophy at the State Championship Meet. They were led by Brian Lee, State Champion in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. He set the State record in the 100-yard butterfly and was named the 3A State Swimmer of the Meet. It was an incredible two days of competition for the Wolverine swimmers, culminating with the team podium finish. State Champs

As their boys will be graduating this spring, we desperately need volunteers to fill these important roles to ensure our team continues to get the support it needs. Ideally, parents of a freshman or sophomore. And thank you to Bob Frazer’s mom, Lisa Cabreza, who has volunteered to be our club treasurer and apparel contact next season! The sooner you reach out and let us know that you’re interested, the more time these delightful, friendly, and generous women will have to relay the information you’ll need to continue their good work. You can reach out to them directly with questions or reply to this email and I’ll put you in touch. Thank you in advance! Please reach out to Judy Lee by email or cell 425-999-0068 if you’re interested in learning more about any of the following roles:
How exciting to be back to a full regular season of swim and dive this year! My name is Heather, I will be communicating for our Booster Club. My son Jude is a junior and has been on the team since his freshman year. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
This Week
Volunteer Requirements Other than our coaches, swim team runs on parent volunteers. A list of our open positions for this season is below. Please take a moment to review and see where you would be willing and able to help out. All parent volunteers are required to please register with BSD and send a copy of your Covid vaccination card to the BHS Athletics Secretary, KMayer if you will be doing any in-person volunteering at meets, team dinners, etc. Home Meet Volunteers Please sign up here for meet volunteering and booster club roles. Our team is responsible to fill the following positions at our home meets. The meet will not be able to happen without these roles being filled. They’re a great way to get to know the sport and be close to the action!
Booster Club Donations The suggested Booster Club donation per swimmer is $175. We greatly appreciate your support of our program and your swimmer as we aim for 100% participation. Donations this season will go towards 15 new swim team jackets, senior gifts, coach gifts, updating pool/training equipment, team dinners and the end of season banquet. Part of your donation this season will help us support SplashForward’s effort in building a world-class regional aquatics center on the Eastside. BHS Boys Swim and Dive donated $1500 to SplashForward end of last season. Please visit splashforward.org for more information. Please review the attached donation form and mail the check and form to Elizabeth, our team treasurer. And don’t forget to check with your workplace to see if they match donations so we get the most from your contribution! Team Suit and Apparel Order Form Our team captains have designed a great new suit and cap for this season. Please find the attached order form with instructions for payment and submitting. Swimmers are required to wear our team suit (preferably this season’s, but not required to be the latest), and swimmers are not allowed to wear a suit from another club. For your quick reference throughout the season, you can find our swim and dive meet schedule on our Team Website. I will also archive these communications on the Home > Boys Home. We are still missing email addresses from about 25 families, so if you know someone new to the team, please forward this and let them know they need to respond to Heather to be added to our distribution list. The Coaches are not allowed to give us the contacts they have, so parents must proactively opt-in to receive updates from the Booster Club regarding events, dinners, and volunteering. Go Wolverines! Heather Parent Communications BHS Boys Swim & Dive We are going to make this short but sweet – the swim team season, that is!
Thank you to our coaches Michael Hill and Michael Liu for keeping our boys in shape all year with the pre-season trainings they managed while we all anxiously awaited moving into a Healthy Start phase to finally begin our BHS athletic programs. Practice starts this Monday, 04/05 at Woodridge Pool If you haven’t already, please be sure to fill out the survey Coach Michael sent out earlier this week to let him know which practice time you prefer.
